You can apply for a new job assessment here on the website. Please note that applying for a new job assessment is only for employers, i.e. municipalities.
1. What is new food?
When a new job is created, it is very important to define the main requirements, content and goals of the job in a job description from the very beginning. An employee must have worked in the new job for a minimum of six months before a performance appraisal can be requested.
2. What supporting documents need to be submitted?
For a request to be considered valid, it must be followed;
- New job description, dated and signed by the manager
- A completed questionnaire that can be filled out below.
It is important that the email addresses in the application are correct and active.
3. What is the career path?
- Job evaluation consultants inform the relevant union that a request has been received.
- Job evaluation consultants decide on the number of employees who will attend interviews based on sampling rules and assign contacts in municipalities to invite employees to briefing meetings and interviews.
- Once the job evaluation consultant's proposal is available, it is submitted to the job evaluation committee/job evaluation executive committee for processing and approval.
- The committee's findings are sent to the union and the human resources manager of the department/municipality, who must inform the employee/employees and the relevant party of the findings.
4. What are the effects?
Job evaluations shall be valid from the time the job was created. If a job at the Association of Icelandic Local Authorities has been temporarily ranked higher by a provisional ranking than the result of a job evaluation, the ranking of the job shall be lowered in accordance with the result. This reduction shall take effect three months after the result is received by the municipality.
