A Women's Strike has been called for October 24th, and among the demands of the Women's Year is that the undervaluation of women's work be addressed and equal pay be guaranteed. Considerable discussion about the gender pay gap and the valuation of work can be expected in connection with the strike. The Equal Pay Office is therefore inviting you to a discussion with the aim of deepening your understanding of the subject.

The focus will be on the gender-segregated labor market, different approaches to the gender pay gap debate, and job valuation. The goal is to provide practical tools to critically interpret data, put numbers into context, understand the gender and equality perspectives behind it, and communicate information.

The Equal Pay Agency has the role of supporting wage setting in the interest of equal pay with an emphasis on job evaluation. It is owned by the Association of Icelandic Municipalities and the City of Reykjavík.
